TYPES OF VOLUNTEERS

 Administrative  Info  Administrative  Administrative volunteer provides support to co-founders and programme directors. Assistants may work in a variety of settings, from sending and responding to emails, making updates to social media accounts, making phones calls and managing the GLAM calendar. Assistants may work remotely with access of a computer and internet however if an office space is required accommodations can be made. 
 
 Administrative volunteer should be familiar with Microsoft Office, Google Drive and Facebook Pages. Administrative volunteer should be good at file management, documentation  and communication skills.

 Board Member  Info  Board Member  Board Member serves as an existing member of the team who steers the direction of GLAM. This volunteer works along a team of objective members who makes decisions for the organization. This volunteer is expected to be aware of the community needs and the current outcomes being achieved by GLAM. An effective board member will always seek to educate themselves on innovative ways of sustaining the programme while also fulfilling the mission of GLAM.

 GLAM Guide  Info  GLAM Guide  GLAM Guide serves as the facilitator of the program assisting the programme director throughout the course of the programme. The Guide will assist with day to day operations of the summer programme and facilitate GLAM specific activities. These activities include supervising field trips, facilitating community service visits and other activities from the GLAM agenda. 
 
 GLAM Guide should be comfortable working with children and supervising them. Effective communication with other members of the GLAM team and community partners is also required for this position.

 Presenter  Info  Presenter  Volunteer presenter provides information to GLAM participants on their respective area of expertise. These volunteers may facilitate one or two interactive sessions during the summer programme. Presenters should have experience in their topic with a passions for sharing their knowledge with others. The presenter should also be comfortable with interacting with children and presenting the content in a child-friendly format.

 Programme Director  Info  Programme Director  The Programme Director oversees the coordination and administration of all aspects of an GLAM including planning, organizing and leading programme activities. These volunteers work closely with the director, co-founders and board members to create and facilitate and effect summer programme. They serve as the direct supervisor of GLAM Guides and also facilitate day to day activities of the programme. 
 
 The Programme Director should have a keen interest in project planning, education and community service. They should also communicate effectively with other members of the GLAM team as well as social partners.

 Support Services  Info  Support Services  This volunteer varies according to their area of services. Support services may include areas such as a volunteer cook, volunteer counsellor, volunteer legal counsel or volunteer consultant. As an organization GLAM requires support in a variety of areas and additional support is always welcome. 
 
 GLAM also seeks to assist girls on an individual basis particularly those who require additional help such as counselling and financial assistance for GLAM girls. This volunteer may work along with GLAM to connect with girls and their families who need additional assistance.
